Bribri Costa Rica TourA 5-6 hour tour to the Bri Bri Reserve where you will learn all about their culture. Bri Bri is their Reserve, language, tribe and the town. We walk across a river over a hanging bridge and cross over into a Pre-Colombian lifestyle.



Bri Bri tour chief silverioYou will visit the six generations of the family of Chief Don Silverio who is 108 years old and whose youngest member is 2 years old. You will learn how they farm, cook and what they eat as well as how they build their Pre-Colombian homes using only organic materials from the surrounding forested areas.  You are free to spend time with the family, ask questions and take photos.

Bri bri watefallsOur next stop on the reserve is a visit to the Medicinal Plantation where a Bri Bri Shaman will explain about their natural alternative medicines using trees, plants, fruits, and vines. There will also be a chance to purchase Bri Bri arts and crafts.

Next stop is a waterfall. We will cross a river and hike 15 to 20 minutes through primary forest to bathe and refresh yourself at the waterfall and then it’s time to enjoy a delicious meal of “Comida Tipica” in a unique setting.



Bri Bri hanging bridgeNow it's time for desert at the Cacao House where you will see a demonstration of the Bri Bri tradition of making chocolate that has been passed on through the generations for over 300 years. You will learn how important Cacao has been to Bri Bri Culture.

Cacao is used in healing practices, spiritual and purification ceremonies and has aided in their economic survival. These practices will be explained during the demonstration and after there will be a chocolate tasting and time social interaction with the Bri Bri Hosting family.
